Assistive technology could be any kind of device or equipment that can support and help people so that they can communicate, learn and function properly. An example of assistive technology would be a wheelchair. A cell phone could be another kind of assistive technology as it helps people to communicate with each other from a distance. Another example is glasses, which could help people with bad eyesight. In other words, people can overcome their challenges by using these kinds of tools and paying attention to their strengths.

The reason I chose Smart Contact Lenses for my assistive technology is not only did I think using smart contact lenses would be a good idea that can relate to assistive technology, but also I am a user of both glasses and contact lenses. I have been wearing glasses since I was 10 years old, and I started wearing contacts when I was 16. As I wear glasses at home and wear contacts when I am outside, I always feel that they are useful and help me a lot to live, but at the same time, they are uncomfortable. So, I always thought that in 2050, there would be assistive technology called Smart Contact Lenses that can help people with their vision as well as other stuff.

Smart Contact Lenses help people in a variety of good ways. To begin with, they help you to have clear vision. Not only that, users are also able to check their health, connect to their social media accounts and are able to explore the VR and AR with the device. Moreover, the lenses can be very helpful to people who have eye problems due to other factors. Approximately one person in three has some form of vision-reducing eye disease by the age of 65. The most common causes of vision loss among the elderly are age-related macular degeneration, glaucoma, cataract and diabetic retinopathy. Age-related macular degeneration is characterized by the loss of central vision. And smart contact lenses could be a new good solution for them as it gives them better vision, especially in the dark. I believe this kind of assistive technology can help people to overcome their own difficulties.

While doing my assignments, I realized that there are a lot of assistive technologies around me and I also found new possibility of assistive technology that can make peoples future much more brighter.
