I chose the Sydney Opera House as my favorite building because I like its outside design and own shape.
An opera house is a theatre building used for opera performances. It usually includes a stage, an orchestra pit, audience seating, and backstage facilities for costumes and building sets. It was completed in 1973, and I believe it is one of the greatest architectural works of the 20th century.
As I mentioned before, I like this design the most because of its own shape. I personally have a lot of interest in architecture, and when I first looked at the Opera House I really loved the outside design, which reminded me of bird wings and shells. This building was designed by Danish architect Jorn Uzton, who was inspired by nature, its forms, functions and colours. I was surprised that Uzton’s designs were influenced by bird wings, seashells (which I thought the same), shapes and forms of clouds, walnuts and palm trees.
I was really impressed by his design and really curious about the process of how he came up with the building design using his ideas of bird wings and shells.
