Adobe Photoshop may be quite familiar to a few people but for me I have only little experience with it, so while doing my Poster 2 for my #DES101 through Photoshop, it was quite challenging for me to use it.

Adobe Photoshop is a raster graphics editor developed and published by Adobe Inc. for Windows and Mac OS. It was originally created in 1988 by Thomas and John Knoll. Since then, the software has become the industry standard not only in raster graphics editing, but in digital art as a whole.

While I was going through my design process using Photoshop, I realized that there are various ways to produce a work by using a lot of tools. These tools have responsive graphics that suit well. The tool I liked the most was the blending tool, which gave me a lot of options to try different types of blending. This helped me to find the most suitable blending for my poster. Secondly, I liked how you can play with the contrast using curves. Not only does it change the brightness of the picture, it can also change some parts of the colours -- from much darker to brighter --, which gives totally different views.

Even though there are a lot of great advantages of Photoshop, as I said before, I found it quite challenging to use. Luckily, there were a lot of videos about the program, but some parts of the steps were hard for me to follow and memorize, which made me watch the same video more than one time. I felt like for beginners, it would be hard to use Photoshop. Also, I thought that high quality-photos were hard to render, so I had to zoom in on the photo to render every detail.

There are a lot of pros and cons of Photoshop, but I still think that it is very useful to make things such as posters, boards and stickers. I had a great experience learning about Photoshop. Although I struggled a bit, I enjoyed the entire process overall.
